2012, A Lethal Year in Karachi

Only few moments separate us from the end of a year but, it has the concise life of 365 days in it; for few those 365 days were just days and for few its 31,536,000 years in it as they spend each passed second as a year.  Before starting that year few people thought that it will be then end of life... well 2012 was the end for some people -including some friends-. Don’t wait for “the end” to come, have fun as if you will die tomorrow. 

In Karachi 2012 was the month of sorrows and angst for so many families who lost a son, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father, till last year people were dying for saving belongings but 2012 was quite questionable to everyone as few families still unaware of the loss they had. The stoned eyes of mothers are still waiting for the justice or at least a reason for killing of their sons.

A part from that one man was quite relaxed here, I am not going to point my fingers on the politicians that we all are aware of their corruption and now it’s useless to discuss about their performance, that man is IG Police not going to drag his detail but he always mention “only 127 peoples were killing in target killings” I think either he is not aware or may be pretend for unawareness from the actual count. 

Actually, 2012 was the hungriest year in the history of Karachi as around 1279 peoples were fell prey to the wave of target killings across the city. This is the only count of target killings but how can we close our eyes from those 289 people who lost their lives in one of Pakistan's worst fires and probably everyone is aware that it wasn’t an incident but the real truth behind to that issue was lodging allowance. 

Still those 120 families who have lost their close one in April 2012 Bhooja crash did not find justice even they don’t exactly know that either it was an incident or that plane was targeted in the name of security. I hope these all questions will get an answer in 2013 or otherwise everyone will be a rebellion and start changing things in their own way after getting frustrated by the continuous poor performance by the elected democratic government.

And finally, this year ended up by taking the last chunk of it's whole meal from Karachi, which disappointed a lot of people who were living in this jungle. As everyone has a simple question; if the only son of Deputy Superintendent of Police is not saved and he needs to beg for justice by using different forums in this country then how they can save us? Where is the chief justice who is famous in taking sou motto actions? Well from this killing one thing is quite visible which was blur before. That I am not a supporter of any political party but at least feudal system should be removed from the whole country and accountability should be added for everyone or else for no one.

Though these hopes are not practical but let’s see where the hell we land up.

Adios 2012

Don’t wait for “the end” to come, have fun as if you will die tomorrow. Personally that year had so many things with it. This year will be memorable to me not because I have enjoyed it at full extent but, because I have found so many betrayers and those people were somehow associated with me. Till the time I was kept on thinking about right and wrong but after such a greater internal conflict with myself I came to a point if a person is wrong than saying him/her right will not make a difference and in simple words it's wastage of time and money.

I’ve met more people in 2012 than I’ve ever met in my entire life. It was a year full of challenging stuff, circumstances nearly killed me, i lost friends, but i could see nimble in the end of this obscurity, i see affluence after depression, i see bliss after melancholy, at the end of this tunnel i see freedom after coercion, i see righteousness in the end.

So, what I am really thankful for 2012 to give me: fun, Life, Love, hate, debate, run, shout, hug, smoke cigar (not cigarettes those could kill me :P ), had an awesome dinner with Mom and Nephew, a way to achieve my dreams or die trying, careless of what other people think, as it’s my life not theirs. Few good friends who were always with me either in hard time specifically, Nighat, Fakhar, Mahin, Muzammil and Nauman.

If you can’t take a break every now and then and enjoy life while you can you will regret it, as nothing is more important than losing your youth and health for. I would not recommend anyone to work like a mule during their life and only wait for the age of retirement when they will be too old to have fun… It doesn’t conclude that someone can live like a hippie either. Do mix all the flavors of spices in proper proportion to have a wonderful life curry.

Balanced life is the key of a good life.

What's Your Brand?

I was just sitting in a group of friends who were used to discuss the way people wear and the way they carry themselves. Suddenly things diverted from each and everyone attire to the brands they wore and then that discussion ended up with an orthodox statement that they must be earning from some illegal ways as the brands are not achievable these days.

In Pakistan we are famous for blaming someone without knowing that how hard time they faced and now each and everyone has their own satisfaction, but I think that was the way for their satisfaction and after blaming others they get satisfied mentally at least.

But, then suddenly a thought raised up in my mind that each and everything has a label must be known as a brand and obviously famous in humans (i.e. Gucci, Prada, Rayban, Royal Stag). I tried to figure out that is there anything that is a brand but not a consumable good? Answer from my brain came in “Yes”. Yes, there is a thing which is a brand these days which we can’t consume but we know every other person from that brand.

We have so many such brands that we can’t consume (i.e. Shia, Sunni, DeoBand, Barelwi, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Ahl-e-Hadees, Ahl-e-Sunna & etc.). But, by the end of that thought I realized that we can even consume these brands as well. In Pakistan these all became brand names instead of religion and each name we use for other person as a weapon. And now things are getting narrow down and people are trying to believe in only two brands, either the brand they use or rest of the brands can be named as “KAFR”. I am not sure when it will be ended or will it be ended or not but as per my research, market always gets more competitor and brands grow more with respect to time.

I am not going to mention my brand else people will start finding the reason behind writing this, but for everyone I think, I am a Human.
